We are looking for an experienced, results driven FORD automatic transmission technician to join our team that is dedicated to producing hours and quality repairs!
Job Description:
- Diagnosing transmission issues including leaks, gear shifting problems, hesitation, slipping, overheating, and vibration
- Ability to lift, move, and uncrate transmission and/or heavy line components
- Disassembling, inspecting, rebuilding, and reassembling Ford transmissions
- Replacing worn or damaged transmission parts and components
- Installing remanufactured transmissions
- Adjusting, repairing, or replacing components using hand tools and bench equipment
- Perform computer diagnostics to troubleshoot electronic transmission problems
- Testing operation of installed transmissions for proper operation and final test drive of vehicle
- Document all work performed
- Communicate with the technicians, service advisor, parts staff, and service manager
Experience:
- Current Ford certification to work on automatic transmissions
- 5+ years experience diagnosing and repairing automatic transmissions, specifically on Ford vehicles
- Knowledge of Ford transmission systems including electronic components
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment and tools for Ford transmissions
- Strong troubleshooting skills to identify transmission issues
- Proficiency in repairs such as rebuilding, clutch replacements, solenoid replacements, etc.
- Adherence to Ford repair processes and specifications
- Ability to perform test drives before and after transmission repairs
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Commitment to keeping up with the latest Ford servicing information and training
